Royal Windsor Victorian Garden

Royal Windsor Victorian Garden

A former 50 acre Victorian property

This garden in the county of Royal Windsor and Maidenhead was once part of a much larger Victorian garden of around 50-acres.  Today we look after just a remnant of this former estate which are old formal gardens which were lovingly redesigned by Taylor Tripp

The approach to the house is via a gravel drive, framed with an avenue of Prunus lusitanica domes designed to draw you in through the new elegant timber gates, whilst opposite a wild meadow bringss colour and wildlife.

In the main garden, the dry derelict pond has been restored with a new terrace and a flight of steps from the main façade of the house. Taylor Tripp created the illusion of a series of garden rooms, with distinct atmospheres. With the introduction of different planting styles on a range of levels, each with varying light conditions, so that the garden could be enjoyed from different perspectives at separate times of the day.

The main house is connected with the old Coach House through the creation of a pool area surrounded by Magnolias and underplanted with white Hydrangeas.
Around the old Coach House and at the end of the drive, a woodland garden has been created and enlivened with Hellebores, Deschampsia and Japanese. A small vegetable and cut flower garden, screened with Apple espaliers trained between the Oak posts.

A.S. Gardens are delighted to offer regular maintenance on this garden, so see the full list of activities undertaken please click here.
